Turkey Time!

Well, this was our first Thanksgiving we spent without our families... and it was very quiet. We missed everyone tremendously. But... it did give me the opportunity to cook my very first turkey and all the fixings. I must say that everything turned out wonderfully! Here are a few pics from our little Thanksgiving! We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
The first few pictures are from earlier this week. We met one of Morgan's friends, Molly, at Bounce for a play date. The one with Morgan sleeping with the basket on her head, was what I found when I went to check on her after she had fallen asleep. The basket is suppose to be holding her My Little Ponies! I thought it was funny, so of course I took a picture!

Fun in Florence!

Today we took my Dad to Florence to see some of the Oregon coast. We had a great time checking out the downtown area and than headed to the Heceta Head Lighthouse area. This time we saw tons of sea lions on the beach and walked the hike and toured the lighthouse. On the beach their were some tide pools with star fish and sea urchins there! It was great! Here are a few pictures from our day!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Today Morgan and I went to visit Santa. She wrote her letter last night to drop in the Macy's mail box to send it to the North Pole. Santa went over well. She stood outside the gate and yelled hello to him, and he came over and started talking to her. Morgan than asked him if he had any dragons (that is something that she said she wanted in her letter to him, that and a pony! Go figure!). From there she just went right in and sat on his lap!

Florence, Oregon Trip

This Sunday we took a trip to Florence which is along the coast. On the way we stopped off Highway 101 to a neat looking diner. It was so cool, they had old cars inside which you ate in. Morgan thought she was super cool! Than we decided to check out the Sea Lion Cave... which turned out to be a total bust. We saw more sea lions (3) from the viewpoints on the side of the road than in the cave that cost $30.00 to go down into. It was interesting going down some 200 ft. into this cave, but we were expecting to see hundreds of sea lions below. The view and the drive was beautiful and totally relaxing. After checking out the sea lion cave we continued to the lighthouse you can see in the pictures. There was a beach below it that Morgan had a blast finding buried treasure in and looking for the "X" which marks the spot! We did not take the 1/2 mile hike closer to the lighthouse because we didn't have any cash on us to pay the $3.00 parking fee!!! But we are planning on going back and doing that when my dad comes into town next week. Here are some pictures from our weekend! Oh yeah, it is a different kind of beach here, they don't particularly give me that feeling of say a beach in Cali. or Florida where you can feel the sun shining down on you, the smell of sun tan lotion, and feel the fine sand under your feet. This particular beach had a lot of rock, but still was amazing!
